Although Spinner is a medium-sized enterprise we produce and sell more than 1200 CNC machines a year. And the number is increasing every year. Our company combines the know-how of a global player with the flexibility and cost-effective structures of a family owned business.

AXA
More than 40 years of expertise and experience in the production of machine tools AXA Entwicklungs- und Maschinenbau GmbH has been developing, constructing and manufacturing metal-cutting production systems, machining centres and special machine tools since 1965. The main factory of AXA GmbH (Photograph: Our company about 1975 and 2001) is located in Germany/ Schöppingen.
At the beginning, our machines were controlled hydraulically or pneumatically; however, thanks to microprocessors, inflexible hydraulic/pneumatic processes were soon replaced with PLC systems and more and more efficient NC controls.
We have only been using flexible CNC technology in our machines since 1977. In the same year, we also developed our machine type KBF-300, one of our first machining centres with cross table. With the development of the machining centre DBZ-700 at the beginning of the 80s, AXA was one of the first manufacturers to use the moving column principle – which is used widely today - for manufacturing a two-place machining centre with the tool changer in the middle. This machining centre minimized expensive unproductive periods during workpiece clamping operations. The resulting rationalization effect was the breakthrough that led to our success as a young company on the machine tool market. Since then, we have been further strengthening our position as technological leader with a number of new developments and patents and adapting our systems to the recent technology.
Along with the technical development, AXA has expanded the company by increasing the main factory in Schöppingen and establishing several branches over Germany and abroad.
Our first factory branch "AXA South" was established in 1985 in Leipheim near Ulm (picture).
Soon after the German reunification, the branch "AXA East" was set up in Auerswalde (in 1990) near Chemnitz (picture).
In 2001, AXA-CNC-stroje, was founded in the Czech Republic.
Until today, we have manufactured over 4000 machining centres of various sizes and output classes for the most varied applications. Rising sales figures also make it necessary to increase the workforce. About 320 qualified and highly motivated employees develop extraordinarily innovative and customized solutions at four AXA locations today.
In addition to developing solutions in the areas of construction, control and software, we also manufacture most parts used in our machines on our own, which guarantees high flexibility and punctual delivery even for special solutions.
High availability is a basic requirement which must be met by all systems today. In order to achieve this goal and to ensure that you can reach us at any time, we offer a central call service at our main factory in Schöppingen. From here, our service technicians can be reached anywhere by mobile telephone and quickly sent to the place where their assistance is required.
As we have factory branches with sales and service support centres, the service technicians can reach you in a very short time. You will receive expert advice from these support centres situated close to your sites. After you have bought and installed our high quality capital goods, you will be assisted by qualified AXA technicians.

SCHAUBLIN
Schaublin Machines SA has its headquarters in the heart of the region from which the Swiss machine tool industry originates. Various companies with international reputation have been established in the region of the Jura Arc and the construction of high-precision machine tools has enabled the inhabitants of this region to collect a well-founded know-how and to make further progresses in mechanical technology in the course of time. This is the ideal basis for the construction of high-precision machinery.
Even today, nearly one century after the company's foundation, and after extensive experiences in the fields of the construction of lathes and milling machines, Schaublin Machines SA will continue to follow always the same target - the construction of high-precision machinery. With our approx. 115 employees, we are following tradition while implementing innovation. Today, we are constructing and distributing conventional lathes, CNC lathes and vertical machining centers.
The famous Schaublin lathes 102 and 70, of which we have been able to sell more than 100,000 pieces worldwide in the past, are still following their successful way. As a kind of bonus, they are equipped with various auxiliary devices such as the frequency converter (model sign CF) and the integrated motor (model identification MI).
Moreover, we make it a point of honor to equip our CNC lathes and machining centers with the precision which has always been the special merit of the products of Schaublin Machines SA. For this purpose, we are continuously striving to improve our products by implementing newly developed technologies. The strong point of these machines and of their auxiliary devices is their high precision.
